Berlinale: Programme

NATIVe - Indigenous Cinema

Establishing Indigenous Cinema

This industry panel features Indigenous film professionals alongside representatives of national film institutions, who will discuss the rising influence of Indigenous cinema within the global film scene. They elaborate on successful initiatives, funding, production and business opportunities, and outline future requirements to further production success and distribution possibilities. The event is followed by a screening of ‘Reel Kanata VI’, a collection of six short films curated by imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival with support from Vtape. The selection presents leading artistic visions in experimental, drama and documentary work made by outstanding Indigenous film-makers in Canada.

With: Ryan Kampe (President Visit Films), Ciara Lacy (Director & Producer), Élise Labbé (Head of Festivals & Audience Development National Film Board of Canada), Emile Hertling Péronard (Producer & Advisor)
