Gespräch mit Regisseur RP Kahl und Linda Söffker, Perspektive Deutsches Kino

Four German films and several German co-productions are screening in the Berlinale Competition. There are also more German films in the various individual sections than ever before, with both feature and documentary films holding their own amongst international productions. Audiences and the press have the opportunity to watch world premieres of new works from established filmmakers as well as making numerous interesting discoveries from previously unknown directors.
Halfway through the Berlinale, director, producer and actor RP Kahl and section head of Perspektive Deutsche Kino Linda Söffker put German film in their sights and take a close look at expectations, praise and criticism, the national and international press, audiences and the film industry. They draw attention to films in the various sections and highlight special characteristics. They also take a closer look at the up-and-coming talent in the Perspektive Deutsches Kino section, track the "Berlinale hot-shots" and spotlight the screenings of the pre-selected films for the German Film Prize in the German Cinema – LOLA@Berlinale section.
