Access Information
Access to Press and Public Screenings, Events, and to the Berlinale EFM and Media Areas
Access to all screenings, Press Conferences, events and media areas is only possible with your accreditation badge. For film screenings and events, it is necessary to prebook an additional online ticket. Registration is required for press lines and Photo Calls.
Information about the online ticket shop for accredited visitors and the registration terms will be provided ahead of the festival. It is not possible to guarantee tickets for a specific film screening or event, nor for a specific number of tickets.
If you have a Press Accreditation that allows access to film screenings and events, you can also access the Berlinale EFM locations in the Gropius Bau and the Marriott Hotel (February 12-18, 2026). Please be aware that if the number of visitors is too high, Market Badge holders will be given priority for entry.
After Your Accreditation Has Been Confirmed, You Will Get Access to the Following Online Services:
- Editing your information in the Attendee List via My Account (from December onwards)
- Request discounted rooms in the Berlinale Hotels (from mid-November onwards)
- Access to the Berlinale Attendee List (from February onwards)
Access Information
- Your accreditation is valid for the duration of the festival.
- The accreditation grants access to:
- Press and public screenings (only with a pre-booked online ticket)
- Press Conferences
- Berlinale EFM stands in the Gropius Bau and the Marriott Hotel (February 12-18, 2026). Please be aware that if the number of visitors is too high, Market Badge holders will be given priority for entry.
- Additionally, accreditation for TV, radio, and web-TV includes access to:
- Media areas at the Red Carpet of the Berlinale Palast (TV / Radio press line) during film premieres (Berlinale Competition and Berlinale Special Gala). Filming in the cinema hall is not possible during the opening and award ceremonies. Pool material will be provided.
- Other venues: TV crews attending the premiere events of other sections must be registered in advance.

- The accreditation grants access to and AV recording of
- Press Conferences
- Media areas at the Red Carpet of the Berlinale Palast (TV / Radio press line) during film premieres (Berlinale Competition and Berlinale Special Gala). Filming in the cinema hall is not possible during the opening and award ceremonies. Pool material will be provided.
- Other venues: TV crews attending the premiere events of other sections must be registered in advance.
- Attending film screenings with this accredition is not possible.

- Attending film screenings with this accreditation is not possible.
- Fixed positions in the press lines at the Red Carpet of the Berlinale Palast will be assigned subject to availability for the duration of the festival. There is no guarantee of a designated position. Placement details will be sent via email shortly before the festival.

- The accreditation does not include the right to take photos or videos at or in the festival venues.
Please note: The Press Accreditation is explicitly reserved for the PR agents of the invited films in the Berlinale programme. A limited number of Press Accreditations for PR agents is available per agency. Decisions regarding allocation are made on an individual basis.
Note on Recordings
Media recordings must not disturb the course of events.
TV, film, digital, video, sound recordings and photography that include part of a film screening violate copyright law and are illegal. Failure to comply with this law will be prosecuted.
Access to some official events is limited and only granted via prior arrangement with the Press Office.
For the Opening and Closing Ceremonies access is limited to registered photographers and radio journalists. TV crews are not permitted. TV, film, video and cell phone recordings are also not permitted. Access to press pool material may be requested from the Berlinale Press Office at .
Failure to comply with these rules and guidelines can lead to the confiscation of accreditation and immediate exclusion from the event.
Recording any material (image, video, audio) is allowed only in designated press areas and only for use in editorial reporting. The creation of marketing content, PR material or content that will be used on private social media channels is not allowed in press areas.
Embargo Regulation for World Premieres
Please respect the embargo regulation for world premieres. Reviews of films that celebrate their world premieres at the Berlinale may only be published after the beginning of the first public screening (start of the screening + 30 minutes).
Note: The start time of the event is not always the same as the start of the screening. There may therefore be a separate embargo notice for some films.
