Armin Rohde and Johanna Wokalek to Open Kinderfilmfest and 14plus Competitions

German actor Armin Rohde will open the Berlinale’s Kinderfilmfest on Friday, 10 February 2006, at 3:30 p.m. in the Zoo Palast 1. This will be followed by a screening of the opening film, Opal Dream – director Peter Cattaneo (The Full Monty) and the film’s young leading actors will attend the presentation. Armin Rohde also stars in Der Räuber Hotzenplotz (The Robber Hotzenplotz) which will have its world premiere on Sunday, 12 February at the Kinderfilmfest.

Johanna Wokalek, this year’s Berlinale Shooting Star from Germany, will open the 14plus youth film competition on Friday, 10 February at 5 p.m. in the Zoo Palast 4. This will be followed by the premiere of Women Liang (You and Me) by Chinese director Ma Liwen, who will also be present.

This year’s Kinderfilmfest/14plus will welcome some 200 actors, directors and other guests to a total of 42 film premieres in competition for this year’s Crystal Bears.
