Festive Opening of the 75th Berlinale

Festival Director Tricia Tuttle and Jury President Todd Haynes will kick off the Berlinale with a festive opening on February 13. The international and national jurors and many other guests are expected to attend the opening.

Numerous Stars and Directors at the 75th Berlinale

Timothée Chalamet, Robert Pattinson, Jessica Chastain, Jacob Elordi, Benedict Cumberbatch, Margaret Qualley and many others are expected to attend the festival. Oscar nominated director Edward Berger will give the laudation for Honorary Golden Bear winner Tilda Swinton.

Berlinale Goes Kiez: The Programme

From February 15 to 21, Berlinale Goes Kiez will put the spotlight on neighbourhood cinema. Over seven days, selected festival films will be shown in arthouse cinemas of the capital region. The series will be complemented by a special screening at the JVA Plötzensee correctional facility.

Awareness Team and Anti-Discrimination

During and shortly after the Berlinale, additional Awareness Teams are available to offer preliminary advice to any visitors or employees who observe, experience or are affected by discrimination in connection with the festival.

The Awareness Team can be contacted by emailing or by phoning +49 30 259 202 95 daily from February 13 to 23 (from 1.00 pm to 6.00 pm) and from February 24 to 28 (from 12.00 pm to 3.00 pm).

The Public Programme with Todd Haynes, Rana Eid, Michel Franco and More

With this year's theme "Listen Courageously - Cinematic Narratives in Times of Dissonance", Berlinale Talents invites the public to visit HAU Hebbel am Ufer. The programme includes 14 public talks as well as a variety of events for the 200 invited Talents.

The 2025 International Jury

It has already been announced that the American director, screenwriter and producer Todd Haynes will be President of the International Jury. Now his colleagues have also been revealed. Together with Nabil Ayouch, Fan Bingbing, Bina Daigeler, Rodrigo Moreno, Amy Nicholson and Maria Schrader, he will decide on the awarding of the prizes in the 2025 Competition.

Honorary Golden Bear for Tilda Swinton

The 75th Berlin International Film Festival will award Scottish actor Tilda Swinton the Honorary Golden Bear for her lifetime achievement. The award will be presented at the Opening Ceremony at the Berlinale Palast on February 13, 2025.

As the first major market of the year, the European Film Market with its EFM Industry Sessions programme offers the perfect stage to discuss the trends and ideas that will engage the industry in the coming film year. In addition to panel discussions, there will be 14 interactive panels and workshops for producers at the EFM Producers Hub.

At the 75th Berlinale Artistic Director of the Deutsche Kinemathek Rainer Rother will be honoured with the Berlinale Camera. The film expert is also head of the Retrospective section and responsible for Berlinale Classics.
