Le temps des framboises

Last Summers of the Raspberries
Élizabeth may have been in the mood for change for some time, but a stroke of ill fate was not really what she had in mind. When her husband dies unexpectedly, she finds herself left not only with a distraught group of in-laws and two teenage sons who seem to have lost their way, but also with a farm, replete with seasonal workers from Latin America. Up to this point, the farm has been of little interest to her, but now she has no choice but to face these new challenges.
Director Philippe Falardeau, whose film Monsieur Lazhar was nominated for an Oscar in 2012, has presented films twice before in the Berlinale’s programme. In 2009, he received the Crystal Bear for C’est pas moi, je le jure! and, in 2020, he opened the festival with My Salinger Year. Florence Longpré was involved in the successful Canadian series Mentends-tu? as a writer and actor. Le temps des framboises marks the pair’s first collaboration on a series. Their show delves into family ties and the not-so-simple life down on the farm in Quebec – with a lot of wry humour and a generous dose of emotion.
