Céline Sciamma

She was born in France in 1978. Her debut feature film Naissance des pieuvres premiered at Cannes; her second, Tomboy, opened the Berlinale Panorama section and won the Teddy Award. Her fourth film, Portrait de la jeune fille en feu, for which she also wrote the screenplay, premiered in competition at Cannes and won numerous prizes, including the European Film Award for Best Screenplay. Her work most recently featured at the Berlinale in 2021 when Petite Maman screened in the Competition. She also works as a screenwriter and film lecturer.
