Inside her family’s Chinese takeaway in a small Welsh seaside town, little Feifei bustles back and forth, until a sad discovery stops her: her beloved goldfish has jumped out of its bowl. Why would a fish leap from its own bowl? Feifei does not understand. Her Mum tries to console her with a Chinese folktale about fish and dragons, but Feifei is not buying it. She has written letters to Santa Claus, but never once asked a dragon for presents. After all, she has never been to China. Wandering through the town, Feifei embarks on a journey of her own. By the sea, glowing waves gently carry an answer to shore: when she sees the “dragon”, myth is no longer just myth. It becomes a way of making sense of the world.
