A fictional television series about the Brazilian legal system. While in one episode the court proceedings take place in a fancy dining room, in another, they can be followed as dialogue in a podcast format. In the final episode, a public defender and two teenagers come together to comment on the footage, as is common in the online genre of reaction videos. Two episodes are being presented in Generation 14plus: in one, a young person found guilty of being a dealer enters into a musical conflict with a strict judge who is in doubt about which sentence would be the fairest. In the other, the case of a teenager who robbed a grocery store to impress her crush is discussed in the format of a sensationalist talk show.

Caru Alves de Souza

The director, screenwriter and producer was born in São Paulo, Brazil in 1979. Her most recent feature film Meu nome é Bagdá won the Grand Prix of the International Jury in the Generation 14plus section of the 2020 Berlinale. She has also directed fiction and documentary films for Brazilian television. Her TV series De menor is inspired by her eponymous debut feature film which premiered at San Sebastián and went on to win Best Film at the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival.
