Village Rockstars 2

Teenager Dhunu lives in a small village in Assam, India, where she dreams of becoming a musician. Her mother shares her passion and encourages her to pursue her dream. Dhunu’s old friends have abandoned music for other priorities but Dhunu joins forces with other budding musicians her age and performs in a local band. An unexpected turn of events compels her to suddenly grow up and face some harsh realities. She must take responsibility for her family and her own life but she refuses to give up on music. As Dhunu treads new, sometimes uncertain paths, she finds solace in her mother, in nature and in music. In her new film, Rima Das picks up the stories of her characters from Village Rockstars seven years on and follows Dhunu in her search to find her own melody and a new meaning in life – in a journey full of change.
