2015 | Close Up!

Young Photographers at the Berlinale

CloseUp photos 2015

Photo journalism can be glamorous. But hard, too! 13 young photographers are given the assignment of presenting their personal view of the Berlinale in all its diversity — the red carpet, glamorous film stars, hectic staff, or behind-the-scenes secrets. Each participant decided on a theme, embarked on a search for motifs, selected images, and put together a series of works for exhibition. The photographs were shown at C/O Berlin in the Amerika Haus at the conclusion of the Berlinale. The works submitted by the participants were judged by a specialist jury, and the three best series will received an award.

With this project, C/O Berlin and the Berlinale are taking an active part in promoting young talents in photojournalism.

The participants in 2015 were: Zsolt Ficsór, Luisa Hanika, Kryštof Hlůže, Semih Lakerta, Sophie Meuresch, Clara Nebeling, Joseph Wolfgang Ohlert, Nina-Marie Raasch, Paolo Raeli, Felix Steinhoff, Furkan Temir, Margarita María Valdivieso Beltrán and Lisa Winter.
