Special Programme at the 70th Berlinale: „On Transmission”

Tord och Tord | Tord and Tord by Niki Lindroth von Bahr

During the 70th Berlin International Film Festival, the anniversary will be celebrated with the special programme “On Transmission” at the Akademie der Künste (Academy of Arts). The Artistic Director of the Berlinale, Carlo Chatrian, has called upon seven filmmakers whose films have shaped the Berlinale, to select one filmmaker to whom they feel attached and with whom they would like to converse about cinema. The two directors will then show their films and meet for an exchange in the form of a public discussion. “The result is a programme that is just as fascinating, as it is unexpected: Thanks to the contributions of these 14 directors, both a festival narrative and a vivid picture of cinema are created, documented in a time of audiovisual change,” says Carlo Chatrian.
