An international group of delegates and specific advisors scout for and act as ambassadors for all programmes of the Berlinale.

Toby Ashraf

Toby Ashraf contributes to the entire official selection and specialises on German speaking and Queer Cinema.
Toby Ashraf works as a curator and writer. He was awarded the Siegfried Kracauer Prize for Best Film Criticism and ran the Berlin Art Film Festival from 2014 to 2018. He has been working as a presenter, author and editor for the Berlinale since 2014. In 2022, he was on the selection committee for the Berlinale Panorama and became Berlinale advisor in 2024.

Ana David

Ana David contributes to the entire official selection while also focusing on Spanish and Portuguese cinema.
A festival programmer and curator, she has been on the selection committee of Berlinale Panorama since 2017 and currently programmes at Márgenes in Madrid and Queer Lisboa. From 2021 to 2024, she served as curator at Batalha Centro de Cinema. Previous programming positions include IndieLisboa, Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival and the BFI London Film Festival.

Rabih El-Khoury

Rabih El-Khoury contributes to the entire official selection and specialises in Arab and Middle Eastern cinema.
Programmer and curator Rabih El-Khoury has been working with the Metropolis Association in Beirut since its inception in 2006. He collaborated with Beirut DC for the promotion of Arab Cinema and was the programme manager of Talents Beirut. He currently curates the SAFAR Film Festival across the UK and collaborates with AFRIKAMERA in Berlin.

Jin Park

Jin Park specialises on genre cinema from around the world.
Jin Park is a film critic and programmer who has been close to the genre cinema scene all over the world. From 2007 to 2013, he was programme director of the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN). He worked for the Busan International Film Festival from 2014 to 2019 and rejoined BIFAN in 2020 as a programmer. He also taught film theories, queer theory and Korean film history.

Kate Taylor

Kate Taylor contributes to the entire official selection, while also specialising in North American and British independent cinema.
Currently working freelance with the National Film & Television School, previous roles have included programme director of the Edinburgh International Film Festival, senior programmer for the BFI London Film Festival and co-founding the London Short Film Festival.

Rowan Woods

Rowan Woods focuses on series at the Berlinale.
She is the creative director at the Edinburgh TV Festival. She previously launched the BFI London Film Festival's Series Programme and led on international festival relationships for the British Council. She has also worked in development at BBC Film and has done acquisitions for distribution and sales.

Jenni Zylka

Jenni Zylka coordinates and supports the German first and second time filmmakers throughout the entire programme.
Film journalist, author and presenter Jenni Zylka has been on the Panorama selection committee since 2005 and was head of Perspektive Deutsches Kino from 2022 to 2023. She is a member of the Grimme Award jury, participates in FIPRESCI juries and curates the series section at Nordische Filmtage Lübeck.

Mara Fortes

Mara Fortes was appointed Berlinale delegate in summer 2024. She is a film and media researcher and curator. Since 2003, she has worked in different cultural institutions and film festivals in Mexico and the U.S. She is currently senior curator at the Telluride Film Festival.

Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay

Luciano Monteagudo

Associated with the Berlinale since 2000, Monteagudo is a film critic and curator. He served as a jury member in Cannes, Locarno and San Sebastián, among many other film festivals. He was artistic director of DocBuenosAires (2002-2017) and writes regularly for the Argentine national daily Página/12.

Special Delegate and Ambassador

Beki Probst

Beki Probst was the director of the Berlinale’s European Film Market from 1988 to 2014 and served as its president until 2018. And for several decades she was running the Probst-Kinobetriebe in Switzerland, known today as Quinnie Cinemas. She also was artistic director of the Geneva-based festival “Stars de Démain” and has served as a jury member at international film festivals.

South Asia

Anu Rangachar

A longtime programmer at MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, heading their international programme, Anu Rangachar has worked extensively with U.S. based distributors to champion contemporary South Asian arthouse films and collaborated on the acquisition of acclaimed international festival titles. Her production credits include several notable Indian independent features.

Brazil

Eduardo Valente

Besides Berlinale, Eduardo Valente currently is the artistic director for the Brasília Film Festival and part of the programming team at Olhar de Cinema (Curitiba IFF). He has also worked as a filmmaker and critic and from 2011 to2016 acted as the head of international affairs for the Brazilian National Film Agency.

People's Republic of China, Taiwan and Hong Kong

Norman Wang

The Hong Kong based veteran media consultant and film publicist, Norman Wang began his career in New York at Renee Furst Public Relations. From 1991 to 2000, he served as a consultant for the Berlin International Film Festival. He returned in 2005 and continues his work with the festival to this day.

People's Republic of China, Taiwan and Hong Kong

Jacob Wong

Jacob Wong has been a delegate of the Berlinale since 2001. He has been curator of programming and director of HAF (Hong Kong Asia Film Financing Forum) of the Hong Kong International Film Festival and is currently director of the Hong Kong International Film Festival Industry Office.
