The 63rd Berlinale opened on February 7, 2013 with the world premiere of the film The Grandmaster. In the presence of the director and the actors Dieter Kosslick and Jury President Wong Kar Wai officially opened the festival. Ulrich Tukur & Die Rhythmus Boys provided musical entertainment, Anke Engelke hosted the evening.
