In the clouds high above Earth lies a mythical playground where the young generation of Greek goddesses, gods and monsters come together to play. Among them is Yios, a little boy with a shining sun on his head which he has inherited from his father, the god Helios. While his father’s crown creates beautiful patterns, Yios is struggling to control his shine. His rays explode in unexpected directions, creating trouble and making the other youngsters avoid him. Despite his eagerness to belong, the mishaps keep piling up and the situation escalates: the other kids devise a mean prank which leads to Yios falling from the clouds, all the way down to Earth. In this strange and unfamiliar place, Yios meets someone entirely unexpected.

Andrea Szelesová

The Slovakian director and animator attended the Václav Hollar Art School in Prague where she made her first animated film, Malady. She continued her studies at FAMU, also in Prague. Her graduation film Sisters premiered at Annecy and went on to screen at more than 60 festivals in 30 countries and received 13 international awards, including Best Slovak Animated Short at Fest Anča. She also works as an animator for feature films and television series.
