Daithi, Donal and Siún’s father, a widower, he is about to chop down trees in the faery fort when the crows warn him against this. He ignores the birds’ advice, and immediately suffers the consequences. First the faeries sweep the washing off the line, then the roof comes off the house, and then it starts blowing such a gale that little Siún is swept away to faeryland.
