The festival is delighted to be welcoming you in-person to Berlin for the 73rd Berlinale.
After two exceptional editions as a result of the pandemic, the 2023 festival is taking place as an in-person event so that audiences, industry professionals, press and members of the films’ casts and crews can meet again face-to-face and experience the festival together.
Current official guidelines do not demand any specific hygiene measures to be taken. However, to help ensure the health and safety of all our visitors, ticket sales in 2023 will once again be online only. All Berlinale venues are equipped with modern ventilation systems that comply with the legal standards. Specifically for the festival, venues will also be cleaned at regular intervals and more frequently than usual as well as being equipped with hand sanitiser dispensers. In the interest of protecting all our visitors, anyone suffering from cold-like symptoms is not permitted to attend screenings or other events (the festival reserves the right to refuse affected persons access to the venues).
In case of an increase in the infection incidence rate, further hygiene measures may have to be taken (e.g. a partial or general requirement to wear mouth-and-nose coverings). Any changes to the rules will be published in a timely manner. The festival therefore recommends that you consult this page again before you travel and/or attend the festival.
