Among the neat outlines and sharp contrasts of Prague animation student Philippe Kastner’s delicate portrait of day-to-day life, his dog Dede is always there – whether curled up on his bed, playing in the garden, running by the river, or sitting on the sofa with the rest of the family. Yet one day, Dede is no longer there. As the images start taking on a looser form, the deep darkness of grief is gradually infused with colourful memories.
