Tickets on sale from Monday, February 4, 2019


Tickets are always available three days in advance
(for example, on a Monday, 10.00 am, for the following Thursday)

Tickets are available from the first day of ticket sales on February 4, 2019 for screenings

  • on Publikumstag, February 17, 2019
  • in Friedrichstadt-Palast
  • in HAU Hebbel am Ufer
  • of the Culinary Cinema
  • of Berlinale Goes Kiez

After payment is complete, it is not possible to make changes to bookings or return tickets.
Maximum of 2 tickets per person per screening (5 tickets for Generation screenings; unlimited tickets for Culinary Cinema 7.30 pm screenings).
No admittance once the screening has begun.

On the day of the screening, tickets are only available online and at the same-day ticket sales.

Mastercard is the Berlinale’s preferred payment partner.

Please have the relevant ticket code ready at the ticket counter (e.g. 120382).

Methods of payment: cash / Girocard / credit card (Mastercard, Visa, AmEx). Exclusively for Mastercard® cardholders an additional ticket counter will be provided in Potsdamer Platz Arkaden.

You will find a detailed overview of all the ticket offices, including their individual opening times, on this page in good time before advance ticket sales begin on February 4, 2019.

If you click on an "Online Tickets" icon within the programme pages, you will automatically be forwarded to the side of the Berlinale ticketing partner "Eventim". In order to buy tickets there, you will be required to create an "Eventim" account, which you can do during the ordering process. Tickets cannot be purchased through your Berlinale account.

The tickets can be

  • delivered as mobile tickets on mobile phones or tablets (for most screenings)
  • printed as print@home tickets

Tickets are also available at box offices connected to the Eventim network (€ 2.00 advance booking fee per ticket).

Advance Ticket Sales Discounts
Generation: groups of 6 or more when pre-booked by telephone (€ 4.00 per ticket, groups of 11 and more € 3.50 per ticket). More information from February 5, 2019 on 0800 724 03 22 (from abroad: +49 30 470 370 271).

Forum and Forum Expanded: for members of the Arsenal with member ID, discounted tickets are available (single ticket: € 6.00, multi-show ticket for six screenings: € 24.00).

Discounts for Same-Day Tickets
A 50% discount is granted at the cinema box offices to school children, students, disabled people, unemployed people, recipients of Hartz-IV benefits, Berlin Pass holders and federal voluntary service participants, subject to availability.

Age restrictions

Admission to screenings only to those aged 18 or above (except for Generation screenings).
If a film has an age rating from the FSK (German film ratings organisation), admission can be granted accordingly.


It is forbidden to take large bags and backpacks into Berlinale venues or areas designated for the festival audience. Bags and backpacks cannot be left in the cloakrooms. For security reasons, the festival reserves the right to check all bags, backpacks and individuals for dangerous objects.
