Berlinale Tickets

The festival programme will be published on the afternoon of January 31.
The advance ticket sales start on Monday, February 6 at 10.00 am (CET).


Advance ticket sales start three days before each screening at 10am (CET). Ticket sales for repeat screenings of Competition films start four days in advance. On the day of the screening, tickets are only available at the box offices of the cinemas themselves and on www.berlinale.de.


Advance ticket sales for all screenings in Friedrichstadt-Palast, in HAU, in the Volksbühne, in venues of the Culinary Cinema and the special series Berlinale Goes Kiez as well as for the Berlinale Publikumstag (Sunday, February 19) also start on Monday, February 6.

Normally, 2 tickets can be booked per event. Exceptions are events in the Generation section, for which up to 4 tickets may be ordered and for the Culinary Cinema screenings at 7.30 pm, for which there is no maximum limit.

From Monday, February 6, daily from 10.00 am to 8.00 pm

Ticket payment at advance ticket sales points also by credit card. For payments with Mastercard® or Mastercard® PayPass®, an exclusive ticket counter will be provided in the Potsdamer Platz Arkaden.

In order to simplify the ticket ordering process, each screening is provided with a ticket code. Please have the relevant code ready at the ticket counter (e.g. 123456).

From the beginning of advance sales, tickets will also be available at ticket offices connected to the Eventim network for a € 2.00 surcharge per ticket.

On the day of the screening, tickets are only available at the box offices of the cinemas themselves.

  • HAU1 and HAU2 from 10.30 am until the start of the last event (on Feb 11 from 7.00 pm - 8.00 pm at HAU1 only)
  • Haus der Berliner Festspiele from 1 hour before the first screening
  • Kino International from 1.00 pm
  • Kino im Martin-Gropius-Bau from 1 hour before the first screening
  • Zeughauskino from 1 hour before the first screening
  • Zoo Palast from 10.30 am

In all other cinemas as well as for films with earlier screening times, tickets are available starting 1/2 hour before the beginning of the first screening.

Please note that tickets purchased at cinema box offices may only be paid in cash.

Starting Monday, February 6, a limited allocation of tickets can be booked online.

When you click on the icon for each film on the programme page you will be directed to the online ticket shop.
If you click on the "Online Tickets" icon, you will automatically be forwarded to the side of the Berlinale ticketing partner "Eventim". In order to buy tickets there, you will be required to create an "Eventim" account, which you can do during the ordering process. Tickets cannot be purchased through your Berlinale account.

Ticket payment by credit card (Mastercard® – Preferred Payment Partner, Visa, AmEx) or Masterpass™. Once the order / payment has been completed, changes or refunds are no longer possible. Additional processing fee of 1.50 € per ticket for online ticket.

Booked tickets can be delivered as mobile tickets (for most events), printed as print@home tickets or be picked up at the Online Ticket Pick-up Counter in the Potsdamer Platz Arkaden (10.00 am - 7.30 pm, on February 19 until 3.00 pm) by showing your printed confirmation and ID.

Advance Sale Discounts

Generation: Group discount
Groups of at least 5 people who register by telephone under 0800 724 03 22 (for international calls: 0049 30 259 22 85 73), from January 30 daily from 9.30 am to 5.00 pm: € 2.50 per ticket. Booked tickets can be picked up at the Generation ticket counter at Berlinale Service Center (Eichhornstraße 3, Potsdamer Platz) from February 8 to 17 daily from 11.00 am to 6.00 pm and on February 18 from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm.

Discount for Members of the Arsenal (Forum and Forum Expanded only)
For members of the Arsenal – Institute for Film and Video Art e.V. with member ID reduced tickets are available on special rates - Single ticket: € 6.00, Multi-show ticket: € 24.00 (6 shows).

Discounts for Same-Day Tickets

A 50% discount for same-day tickets is available for pupils, students, persons in federal volunteer service, disabled people, unemployed people, "Berlin pass" holders and welfare recipients at cinema box offices.

Last Minute Tickets at Berlinale Palast ½ hour before showtime available at a 50% discount.

General terms & conditions

Age restrictions

The minimum age for admission to events at the Berlinale is 18 (except for Generation events).
If a film has an age rating from the FSK (German film ratings organisation), admission can be granted accordingly.

Suitcases, bags and rucksacks

It is forbidden to take large bags and backpacks into Berlinale venues or areas designated for the festival audience. Bags and backpacks cannot be left in the cloakrooms. For security purposes, the festival reserves the right to check all bags, backpacks and individuals for dangerous objects.
