Neuland

Unknown Territory
The new students on Mr Zingg’s integration course in Basel have come from great distances. They are all refugees: from Afghanistan, Cameroon, Serbia and Venezuela, and they have arrived in Switzerland nursing dreams of a better future. Protected and shielded from their surroundings, they will spend two years learning to speak the language and understand the culture of their new country. Mr Zingg has but one goal: to help these young people find their place in society in spite of them being traumatised by the harsh blows that fate has dealt them. But the closer it gets to the end of school, the more these young migrants agonise over one central question: is there a place for me in this country?
