“I wish to thank all of the Berlinale’s official partners. We are dependent upon the generous support and passionate commitment of our partners to lead the Berlinale, together with us, into the future," says Executive Director Mariette Rissenbeek, on the significance of the sponsors for the Berlinale.

The Main Partners

Audi (Official Partner since 2014)

The official automobile partner Audi provides around 250 vehicles, including the Audi e-tron, the brand’s first purely electric production model with the four rings and the two new plug-in hybrid models Audi A8 TFSI e and A7 Sportback TFSI e. Audi is driving the film stars on the Red Carpet with this progressive fleet, purely electrically and in the usual style.
The Audi Berlinale Lounge located opposite of the Berlinale Palast once again offers a varied programme with exciting discussions and music events. Cinema fans, trade visitors and journalists are equally welcome. The Audi Short Film Award, endowed with 20,000 Euros, has been presented to short film directors in the Berlinale Shorts section since 2015 and is distinguished by a special artistic signature. Furthermore, Audi is once again producing the popular Berlinale festival bag. For the first time, the e-tron is also available as a limited edition model car with Berlinale design in the Berlinale Shop and Audi City Berlin.

MagentaTV (New Official Partner)

The innovative TV provider from Deutsche Telekom invites to the MagentaTV Lounge directly at the Zoo Palast and offers a truly diverse programme: Prominent figures from the film and entertainment industry will hold inspiring master classes on topical issues. Christian Schwochow, Doris Dörrie and Maria Lorenz are among them. Moreover, film and series expert Dominik Porschen will report live from the Berlinale in a daily morning show and will receive well-known interview guests.

L’Oréal Paris (Official Partner since 1999)

The official cosmetics expert at the Berlinale and its professional make-up artist team ensure the perfect Red Carpet look of the stars. Both film icons such as Jane Fonda, Iris Berben and Elle Fanning as well as the brand ambassadors Lena Meyer-Landrut and Stefanie Giesinger prove that the world of film is intimately linked to that of beauty.

Oscar winner and L’Oréal Paris brand ambassador Dame Helen Mirren will receive the Honorary Golden Bear at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival.

Furthermore, members of the Berlinale audience will obtain the opportunity to get their current “Berlinale Look” touched up for free in the L’Oréal Paris Make-up Studio on Potsdamer Platz.

ZDF (Main Media Partner since 2005)

ZDF, our main media partner, produces and broadcasts all stage shows in the Berlinale Palast – from the opening to the awarding of the European Shooting Stars Awards and the Honorary Golden Bear to the award ceremony by the International Jury. As a pool leader, ZDF ensures that TV images are passed on to the numerous national and international TV channels that report on the festival.

The opening ceremony of the 70th Berlinale will be broadcast live by ZDF partner broadcaster 3sat as part of a “Kulturzeit extra” programme. The final highlight of the Berlinale, the awarding of the Golden and Silver Bears by the International Jury, will also be broadcast on February 29, 2020 in a special live broadcast.

ZDF also supports the live broadcast of the Berlinale opening in four CinemaxX cinemas in Essen, Hamburg, Halle (Saale) and Munich.
