The 73rd Berlin International Film Festival receives support from its Principal Partners Armani beauty, Uber and ZDF; its Co-Partners Mastercard, Potsdamer Platz and rbb media; and approximately 30 other national and international businesses.

“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all official Berlinale partners. In addition to the important financial support, we are also grateful for the diverse services with which all Berlinale partners will enrich the festival and its visitors,” says Executive Director Mariëtte Rissenbeek on the Berlinale partners’ commitment.

Principal Partners

Armani beauty
In 2023, the Berlinale will be supported for the first time by Armani beauty as Principal Partner and official beauty expert. Armani beauty will provide the official make-up service to the festival’s guests among whom celebrities destined to walk the Red Carpet. Berlinale audiences have the opportunity to get their makeup done at the Armani beauty pop-up at Potsdamer Platz. For over 20 years, Armani beauty has been delivering beautifully textured make-up, skincare formulated from the most pioneering science, alongside fragrances created with the rarest ingredients. Armani beauty’s collaboration with the Berlin International Film Festival keeps enhancing the relationship the brand has with the world of filmmaking and comes as a celebration of Giorgio Armani’s life-long love of the cinema. Armani beauty’s faces Cate Blanchett, Sydney Sweeney, Regé-Jean Page, Tessa Thompson, Nicholas Hoult, Adria Arjona, Greta Ferro and Alice Pagani epitomise the intimate connection between cinema and beauty.

Uber
The mobility platform Uber will be Principal Partner of the Berlinale and supports the festival in the realisation of the VIP shuttle to bring film teams and festival guests to the Red Carpet. For the practical realisation, Uber cooperates with a local car rental partner, through which the required capacity of vehicles and drivers will be provided. For the 73rd edition, all limousines for the Berlinale VIP shuttle will be powered by modern and sustainable hydrogen technology for the first time and will therefore be emission-free. Uber is also planning numerous activities to make it easier for Berlinale audiences to get to the venues and back home.

ZDF
As the main media partner of the Berlinale, ZDF/3sat has staged all stage events in the Berlinale Palast since 2005 – from the Opening Gala to the European Shooting Stars Awards and the presentation of the Honorary Golden Bear to the Award Ceremony with the International Jury. As a leader in the press pool, ZDF ensures the transmission of TV images to the numerous national and international channels. In addition, ZDF will offer extensive coverage of the Berlinale on television and ZDF online. The ZDF Lounge at the Grand Hyatt Berlin will host daily industry meetups

Co-Partners

Mastercard
As an international technology business, Mastercard provides safe and smart payment processes all over the world. Mastercard has been a Co-Partner of the Berlin International Film Festival since 2015. This year, it is focusing on diversity and accessibility, since films can help sensitise people to the world around them and combat stereotypical role models. Actor Thelma Buabeng is the face of the Mastercard campaign and lends the company’s commitment a strong voice.
To encourage diversity on the big screen, Mastercard supports the project Vielfalt im Film and its associated organisations in their commitment to fighting discrimination and promoting accessibility and diversity in the film industry. From February 13 – 26, 2023, Mastercard will donate 1 Euro of every festival transaction (ticket sales at the Berlinale online ticket shop, and snacks and drinks at the International and Zoo Palast cinemas) made with Mastercard to the project.
As a partner of the talent support project Berlinale Talents, Mastercard will sponsor 200 selected creatives from 14 different film industry trades. More information on the projects and the campaign are available at https://www.mastercard.de/berlinale.
