Linda Söffker is head of the Perspektive Deutsches Kino section.
Linda Söffker was born in Eberswalde (Brandenburg) in 1969 and studied cultural and theatre studies at the Humboldt University of Berlin. After graduating, she worked as a curator and programme coordinator in the Zeughauskino in the German Historical Museum in Berlin. In 1999, Linda Söffker moved to the Berlinale, where she assumed the role of section head of Perspektive Deutsches Kino in 2010.
For several years, Linda Söffker has been active as a member of various film and funding juries, such as the BKM feature film funding commission (script and production funding) and the jury of the DEFA Foundation’s promotional awards. She works as a curator for a number of film-related projects and writes as an author for various publications. In 2006, she co-published the monography “Aki Kaurismäki” with Ralph Eue.
