The Berlinale’s Response to the Coronavirus
As the coronavirus continues to spread, the Berlin International Film Festival is taking the following initial precautions:
To provide the recommended hand hygiene, sanitary facilities across all festival locations are being equipped with disinfectant.
Appropriate measures will be taken to inform the festival’s employees and guests about the procedures to follow and the reporting channels to use if a suspected case occurs during the festival. The Berlin Institute for Virology and the special isolation unit at the Charité hospital are available to handle any cases. Festival guests coming from China and other affected regions will be given comprehensive information on arrival at the airports by the Robert Koch Institute.
The Berlinale is in close contact with the Robert Koch Institute and the Berlin health authorities. Depending on the risk assessment, further possible measures are under continuous consideration.
