Anoosh and Arash are heroes of Tehran’s underground techno scene. Tired and jaded by the constant game of cat-and-mouse with the police and their stagnating careers they organise one last rave in the desert in spite of the considerable dangers involved. The party is to be an ecstatic dance on the edge, ‘even if it’s the last thing we ever do!’ Back in Tehran they try unsuccessfully to distribute their illegal album. When Anoosh is arrested at a party it looks as if their last glimmer of hope of a future in Iran has just been extinguished. But then they suddenly get a call from Zurich’s Street Parade, the largest techno party in the world. After a long and anxious wait the two finally receive five-day visas. In Switzerland they find themselves catapulted into another realm by a series of radio and newspaper interviews, the enthusiasm of an immense crowd of ravers as well feedback from DJ colleagues. But their euphoria quickly dissipates as the day of their impending departure looms and they are faced with a big decision …

Her first feature-length documentary, Raving Iran, screened in the 2017 Perspektive Deutsches Kino as well as at 130 other international festivals; the film won a number of awards and had a successful cinema release.
