The series format was introduced into the official Berlinale programme in 2015. The opportunity to experience brand new series premieres from all over the world was enthusiastically received by Berlinale audiences.
The narrative in serial form will once again be part of the Berlinale Special programme at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival. The selection process is already underway and the festival is keeping an eye out for interesting titles that fit the Berlinale Special Series curation profile.
Haus der Berliner Festspiele will again serve as the venue in 2016. The programme's scope will be similar to that of 2015, but instead of taking place on two consecutive days, the 2016 Berlinale Special Series programme will be spread out through the festival.

Along with drama series presented in the Berlinale Special programme, the industry platforms of the festival host the “Drama Series Days” - a joint initiative of the European Film Market, the Berlinale Co-Production Market, and Berlinale Talents. The "Drama Series Days" welcome creators, buyers, sales agents, producers, commissioning editors and financial backers of high-quality drama to discuss, present and promote new serial content and projects in development. The next edition will be held February 15-16, 2016. For more information please visit www.efm-berlinale.de or contact .
