Die Flucht zu den Pinguinen

A mysterious colourful bird, the brave little imp, a little frog and the chubby-cheeked Mr Winter. These characters, along with many others, brought the DEFA Studio for Animation Film in Dresden international fame. Founded sixty years ago the studio produced over 750 hand-drawn, puppet and silhouette animations. The Dresden animation team loved their viewers, taking them on a journey into the magical realm of fantasy. The greatest praise for their work, which was carried without the use of any computers, was their enthusiastic audience. Generation presents a special programme dedicated to the art of the DEFA animation films.
