Dedicated to supporting young German directors in developing a project, material and script, the €15,000 “Made in Germany – Perspektive Fellowship” that is funded by the Berlinale’s co-partner Glashütte Original will also be awarded from 2014 to 2016 to a young talented German filmmaker from the Berlinale Perspektive Deutsches Kino section. The Berlinale is very pleased to be continuing this partnership and especially appreciates the substantial commitment of this famous watch manufacturer to up-and-coming filmmakers.
Call for New Projects
Starting now, the eleven directors from this year’s Perspektive are invited to work on formulating an exciting idea for a full-length fictional or documentary film. Treatments may be submitted until October 1, 2013; subsequently, a new jury will select the winner of the next fellowship.
Harun Farocki as Dramaturgical Advisor
As already reported, at the opening of the Perspektive Deutsches Kino 2013, dffb graduate Jan Speckenbach was awarded the “Made in Germany – Perspektive Fellowship” for his project “Das Klopfen der Steine” (“The Sound of Stones”).
“We are extremely delighted that Glashütte Original is again making it possible for the fellowship to include a mentor and dramaturgical advisor for the winner. Harun Farocki will accompany and support Jan Speckenbach in developing his script,” comments section head Linda Söffker.
