Discussion with film critics about the 64th Berlinale

Öffentliche Gesprächsrunde zur 64. Berlinale

The celebration of films is in full swing on the red carpet. First impressions still have to settle, gut feelings need to be justified, cool receptions explained, emotional engagement analysed, background information illuminated and everything put into context. We'd like to capture this special moment at a highpoint of the festival with Thomas Sotinel, Le Monde (France), Frédéric Jaeger, (Germany), Scott Foundas, Variety (USA), Esin Kucuktepepinar, Sinema, (Turkey) und Boris Nelepo, (Russia). How do they rate the films? What's made their hearts leap, what's made them want to run away, what's made them switch off? And what kind of world cinema does the Berlinale show, anyway? What's the current situation of the auteur and festival film? Which films will have staying power?
A chance to take stock, with intentionally hasty judgements, subjective highlights and scrupulous analyses taking the pulse of the Berlinale in the middle of the action on Potsdamer Platz in the Audi Berlinale Lounge.
This public event of the Berlinale in cooperation with the German Film Critics' Association (VdFk) will take place in English.
