The 61st Berlinale opened on February 10, 2011 with the international premiere of the film True Grit. Dieter Kosslick and jury president Isabella Rossellini officially opened the festival. The Berlin band Beatsteaks provided musical entertainment for the evening, which was hosted by Anke Engelke.
