High Life

The story of a gang of drug-addicted petty criminals set in the mid-1980s.
Dick and his friends Donnie and Bug have managed to screw up every job they’ve ever had and have spent plenty of time behind bars. In the short periods in between their arrests they are always on the look out for the next good ‘opportunity’ that will provide them with a carefree life. But their hopes have yet to be fulfilled. Bug has always looked up to Dick, and Dick has always taken care of Bug. When Bug learns that Dick has found himself a proper job in a proper hospital, Bug naturally sees to it that Dick is soon fired.
It’s a good thing that banks now have cash machines, because the three lads could really use a lot of dosh in a hurry. When Dick meets a charmer named Billy at a drug counselling appointment, their little gang is complete. According to Dick’s meticulously thought-out plan, the gang will empty no less than three cash machines at once. It’s a simple plan. But then a bank clerk named Alma appears on the scene. She wasn’t supposed to cross Dick and the lads. No, that wasn’t part of Dick’s plan at all …
