Northern Ireland in 1985. British soldiers cause a traffic accident during which a mother and her young son are killed. Two years later, one of the British men involved in the accident helps a single father and his daughter to save a horse from drowning. Although the daughter expresses her gratitude, the father has no qualms about confronting the Englishman. Gary McKendry: This film deals with universal issues. The Irish farmer could easily be an Iraqi and the soldier could just as well be a US marine.
