Under the title “Berlino a Roma” a selection of the 54th Berlin International Film Festival films will be screened in Rome. This event, presented by the city of Rome and the capital city cultural centre Auditorium – Parco della Musica will be held between 7 and 9 March 2004 at the Rome’s Auditorium.
“Now, that the curtain of the 54th Berlin International Film Festival has been lowered and normal life is back here on Berlin’s Potsdamer Platz, I am very proud that for the first time a selection of films from the Berlinale can be presented to our Italian friends in the wonderful Auditorium – Parco della Musica in Rome”, says festival director Dieter Kosslick, who is very pleased with this new initiative. In addition to the films of the competition, films of the Forum and Panorama sections will be screened. “The Berlinale has always had strong ties to Italian Cinema. This initiative, for which I want to thank Goffredo Bettini, President of the Auditorium, and Giorgio Gosetti, is a further step in the long time friendship between Italy and the festival. Of course this program can only be an appetizer and a small panorama of our program, but we hope that it gives you an idea what our festival is about,” adds Dieter Kosslick.
