The Official Partners of the 72nd Berlinale

The 72nd Berlin International Film Festival is sponsored by principal partners L’Oréal Paris, MagentaTV and ZDF, as well as co-partners Mastercard and rbb and around 20 other national and international companies.

“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all official Berlinale partners. The trust, patience and extraordinary flexibility in the cooperation with our partners have been an incredible support for us in recent months. Without this support, it would have barely been possible to organise this festival,” says Executive Director Mariette Rissenbeek on the Berlinale partners’ commitment.

Principal Partners

L’Oréal Paris
The official cosmetics expert of the Berlinale has been creating the perfect Red Carpet look for the stars with a professional make-up artist team since 1999. Movie icons such as Kate Winslet, Helen Mirren, Andie MacDowell, Jane Fonda, Eva Longoria and Elle Fanning demonstrate that the world of film is closely linked to that of beauty. Unfortunately, the popular make-up studio at Potsdamer Platz cannot be set up this year due to the pandemic.

MagentaTV
MagentaTV has been a principal partner of the Berlinale since 2020. Telekom’s innovative entertainment offer combines classic television with over 75 channels in HD, series and films in the popular Megathek as well as streaming services on one platform. It signifies independence from location, space and time. MagentaTV captures the highlights and most beautiful moments of the festival and transports the Berlinale feeling into German living rooms.

ZDF
As the main media partner of the Berlinale, ZDF/3sat has staged all stage events in the Berlinale Palast since 2005 – from the Opening Gala to the European Shooting Stars Awards and the presentation of the Honorary Golden Bear to the Award Ceremony with the International Jury. As a leader in the press pool, ZDF ensures the transmission of TV images to the numerous national and international channels. ZDF is providing the Berlinale with the lanyards again this year. 3sat will broadcast the 72nd Berlinale’s Opening Gala live on February 10, starting at 7.20 pm, and the Awards Ceremony on February 16, starting at 7 pm.

Co-Partners

Mastercard
Mastercard has been a co-partner of the Berlin International Film Festival since 2015. This year, every ticket purchase at the Berlinale with a Mastercard® supports the Priceless Planet Coalition and helps to restore forests around the world. In addition, Berlinale Talents co-partner Mastercard will once again be making the Talents Footprints – Mastercard Enablement Programme possible, supporting three scholarship recipients from Talents alumni who are actively, sustainably and systematically tackling gender equity, environmentalism and inclusion within the film industry through their own social organisations, cultural networks and education projects.

rbb media
rbb media has been a festival co-partner since 2020. As a wholly owned subsidiary of Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (rbb), rbb media is a full-service provider for rbb. This year, the popular official festival bags will be provided by rbb media.

The rbb continues to support the Berlinale as a media partner and as the prize sponsor of the Berlinale Documentary Award. A three-member jury will decide on the presentation of the award. The prize money of 40,000 Euros will be shared between the director and producer of the winning film.

Third Partners: ARRI, Colt Technology Services, Dell, GWFF, Wall.

The Gesellschaft zur Wahrnehmung von Film- und Fernsehrechten (GWFF) sponsors the GWFF Best First Feature Award, which is endowed with 50,000 Euros.
