Berlinale Films Nominated for Oscars: Congratulations!

The Berlinale will want to cross its fingers eleven times when it comes to this year’s Academy Awards: Asghar Farhadi’s A Separation, winner of the Golden Bear at the Berlinale 2011, is one of eleven nominations for Oscars earned by Berlinale films in 2012. A nomination also went to Meryl Streep for Best Actress in a Leading Role again.

Eight films from the Berlinale 2011 and 2012 received eleven nominations in different categories from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences:

Best Picture:
Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close by Stephen Daldry (Berlinale Competition)

Actress in a Leading Role:
Meryl Streep for The Iron Lady by Phyllida Lloyd (Honorary Golden Bear and Homage)

Actor in a Supporting Role:
Max von Sydow for Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close by Stephen Daldry (Berlinale Competition)

Makeup:
