Berlinale Special 2010

The Berlinale Special is part of the festival’s official programme and presents recent works by contemporary filmmakers and re-screens historical works. The filmmakers of the movies in the Berlinale Special will attend the premieres and present their films.

“For our 60th anniversary, audiences may again delight in the diversity of the Berlinale Special programme: we’ll get to know hairdressers from Marzahn and kings from other worlds, track down Bears and abandon ourselves to dreams of dancing”, says Berlinale Director Dieter Kosslick.

This year’s main venues are the Cinema Paris in the Institut Français and the Friedrichstadtpalast, where the Berlinale Special Gala Screenings will be held. Further venues include the Kino International and the Zoo Palast.

22 films have been invited to the Berlinale Special, 12 of them are world premieres
