Sommer vorm Balkon

Summer in Berlin
A magical, kaleidoscopic portrait of life in Berlin in the summertime, based on a screenplay by Wolfgang Kohlhaase and filmed in original locations in Prenzlauer Berg with some improvised scenes and a partly nonprofessional cast. The film focuses on six inhabitants of this Berlin district. “Nike has a balcony, Katrin has a son, Ronald drives a truck, Tina is a waitress and Oskar and Helene are old and alone. Regardless of whether they are in the prime of life, at the end of it, or at the beginning, they all ask the same question: is love something that can last beyond the seasons? Or is it simply a neurotransmitter in the brain that comes and goes?” (Wolfgang Kohlhaase)
