Det som ingen ved

What No One Knows
A secret service thriller that is also a family thriller. The latest work by the director of MIFUNE, Søren Kragh-Jacobsen, is both at once. The film revolves around 39-year-old Thomas Deleuran, a man whose marriage is falling apart. When his sister, Charlotte, drowns in an accident while swimming, he goes through her estate and discovers among her papers evidence of their father’s activities in the secret service. It would appear that Charlotte was trying to found out more about this. The question is: why?
Thomas arranges a meeting with an old navy comrade of his father’s named Lange-Erichsen, who evades his questions. Thomas shows him lists of poisonous chemicals that he found in Charlotte’s apartment which the ex-mariner claims to know nothing about. Thomas is fairly certain Lange-Erichsen is not telling him the truth; moreover he feels sure that he must have met his sister shortly before her death.
He learns from his sister’s closest friend Ursula that Charlotte was in touch with a Swedish woman who had told her shocking details about their father’s work. Charlotte had panicked. She was desperate to talk to Thomas about her discoveries. Thomas and Ursula decide to continue their research together. Before long, Thomas notices that he is being followed. Soon after, someone breaks into his apartment and steals all the evidence. Hearing on the news that the controversial merger of Denmark’s two secret service organisations is to be managed by none other than Lange-Erichsen, he realises that something is truly rotten in the state of Denmark …
