The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou

Die Tiefseetaucher
Nobody knows the depths of the world’s oceans better than renowned oceanographer Steve Zissou. He and his “Team Zissou” are constantly travelling the seven seas in their submarine, researching all manner of life underwater. But even Steve has seen better days and so, in a bid to secure his place in the annals of time, he decides to pull out all the stops and conduct a spectacular expedition – which just might be his last.
The aim of the current quest is to find the shark that killed Steve’s partner and avenge his death. The other members of Zissou’s crew are: the impenetrable Ned, who could be Steve’s illegitimate son; a heavily pregnant reporter named Jane Winslett-Richardson; German cameraman Klaus Daimler; Zissou’s wife Eleanor, who is generally believed to be the brain behind “Team Zissou”, as well as Pelé, who has a penchant for rendering David Bowie songs in Portugese.
Naturally, it’s impossible to plan such an expedition down to the last detail and, just as in real life, it all happens at sea. And so it is that, during their hunt for the unbelievably rare and dangerous jaguar shark, Steve and his crew find themselves coping with mutiny, raids by pirates and countless other surprises. As if they didn’t have enough on their plate, there is also their opponent, Alistair Hennessey, who will stop at nothing to get one over on Steve and his crew…
Wes Anderson’s turbulent comic adventure story of revenge, love and treachery on the high seas is brimming over with crazy ideas, loveable eccentric characters and incredible situations that never fail to surprise.
