Accept diversity: Initiative Friedensfilmpreis (Peace Screen Award Initiative) to present Un altro mondo è possibile - a film by Italian artists documenting the violence in Genoa.
Under the motto "accept diversity", the Berlin International Film Festival plans to break new ground with an area in which cinema-related initiatives and groups can stage their own events in cooperation with the Berlinale.
In this context, the special screening of Un altro mondo è possibile (Another World is Possible), a film made by a large number of Italian filmmakers, will be exemplary. This documentary presents the events surrounding the G-8 summit in Genoa in July 2001. Citto Maselli, Mario Monicelli, Gillo Pontecorvo, Ettore Scola, Ricky Tognazzi, Francesca Comencini, Pasquale Scimeca, Daniele Segre and the Taviani brothers are among the many contributing directors.
It was not possible to accept the film for the official program of the Berlin International Film Festival due to formal reasons. However, the Berlinale management is very pleased that the Initiative Friedensfilmpreis will screen the film on the occasion of the Berlinale at a festival cinema, provided by the Berlinale management.
Un altro mondo è possibile will be screened at the Cinemaxx, Kino4, on February 9th at 19.30 . For further information, please contact the Initiative Friedensfilmpreis:
