Seoul, 1989. At her father and aunt’s insistence, Jung-min attends a popular speed-reading institute. There, she meets Dong-hyun, a speed-reading prodigy who can finish a book in just 60 seconds. Instantly captivated by this astonishing achievement, Jung-min throws herself into an intense training following the principal of the institute’s unique methods. At last, Jung-min stands on stage with Dong-hyun, just as she dreamed. But things do not go exactly as she had imagined.

The director completed an MFA in film directing and screenwriting at Columbia University in 2024. Her work primarily focuses on comedies and explores stories of individuals striving to fit into a bewildering, often incomprehensible world. Her short film Say Something, which screened at multiple international festivals, follows a teenage girl who fakes speaking in tongues to impress her crush at church. Speedy! won an Indian Paintbrush Productions grant.
