Filme Pin

This film essay is based on an inherited collection of pins. Found in the attic of an abandoned family home, the pins hold memories of exile and political activism. These small, seemingly harmless objects are material vestiges of a political and emotional past, evoking stories of struggles and silvered memories. Filme Pin turns the pins into visual and auditory protagonists, exploring their textures, reflections and hidden narratives yet to be found. Shot in Super 8, the film emphasises the physicality of the image and its relationship with the materiality of the objects. Macro photography and tactile lighting transform each pin into a cinematic and sculptural memory of solidarity between people.

María Rojas Arias & Andrés Jurado (La Vulcanizadora)

La Vulcanizadora is a studio created by María Rojas Arias and Andrés Jurado, where cinema, art and archives explore memory, resistance and variegated, expanded forms across film. Situated in present-day Colombia, the studio acknowledges the cultural legacies of Africa, Asia and other latitudes, establishing connections that extend to the Caribbean, the Amazon and the Orinoquía. It collaborates with a diverse community of the living and the dead, the visible and the invisible, who contribute from fields such as science, biology, philosophy, education, ethology, anthropology, history, music, translation, literature, knowledge systems, flavours, experiences and traditions, both dependent and independent, critically and provocatively engaging with production and institutional frameworks.
