Co-Pro Series 2026: Pitches and Partners for Ten International Series Projects
Co-Pro Series Pitch 2025
For the twelfth edition of Co-Pro Series, the Berlinale Co-Production Market has selected ten international series projects. The pitches will take place on the morning of February 17 at CinemaxX, followed by several hundred one-on-one meetings between the producers and creators of the projects and potential co-producers, financiers and representatives from TV broadcasters, world sales companies, funding institutions and platforms. These meetings will be held at the Atrium Tower at the Berlinale Service Center.
The selected projects come from Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, Sweden, Iceland and Mexico, with strong representation from Southeast Europe, including Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Greece.
From Germany comes the first series project by director İlker Çatak (Das Lehrerzimmer) nd written by Annika Pinske & Jacob Hauptmann, an adaptation of Bernhard Schlink’s bestselling novel "Die Enkelin" ("The Granddaughter"), produced by if… Productions and Trimafilm. At its heart is a man who, after his wife’s death, sets out to find her granddaughter - whose existence he was unaware of - and is confronted with a worldview shaped by radical convictions.
Swiss company Contrast Film, which sought partners for its later international hit series Davos 1917 at Co-Pro Series 2019, now presents its new thriller project Gold. The story follows a gold dealer who, in her attempt to save the family business, becomes entangled in a dangerous web of illegal trade, exploitation, corruption and guilt.
From Spain comes an adventurous and original heist series: Robbery, Beating and Death, in which filmmakers Nao Albet and Marcel Borràs play themselves and face an absurd dilemma when their staged bank robbery shoot threatens to turn into a real crime.
Jomanda!, from Dutch production company Lemming Film, chronicles the meteoric rise and tragic fall of a self-proclaimed miracle healer in the dazzling 1990s.
Also inspired by true events is the Romanian project Angelmaker, directed by Cristina Groșan. After World War I, wives resist the dominance of their returning husbands. The desperate act of some women - slipping poison into tea - becomes not only a silent act of rebellion but soon a routine.
From Bosnia and Herzegovina comes Hedgehogs in the Haze by Danis Tanović, following three best friends whose lives, caught in toxic relationships and financial struggles, are turned upside down when they discover a small box with controversial contents.
Swedish company Plattform Produktion, known for Ruben Östlund’s films, ventures into series production for the first time with A Phone Rings in the Middle of the Night: a psychological thriller that begins with an anonymous message and evolves into an unusual revenge story questioning notions of guilt, justice and morality.
In the series In My Secret Life, from Icelandic production company Sagafilm, siblings uncover hidden secrets in the life of their comatose father.
Mugre Rosa from Mexico is based on Fernanda Trías’ bestselling novel of the same name. Atmospheric and haunting, the series explores isolation, fractured communication and the meaning of care in a dystopian world. Directed by Alonso Ruizpalacios, known for La Cocina, Andor, and Narcos: Mexico.
As part of the ongoing collaboration with Series Mania, the Greek crime project Antiparos will be presented. It was pitched in Lille in 2025 and now seeks additional partners in its advanced financing stage.
Past Co-Pro Series participants include international successes such as Babylon Berlin, Freud, Davos 1917 and the award-winning sci-fi youth series Dome 16.
