Films are always an interplay of interrelated arts and crafts. In this conversation between four film composers, the focus is on film music. Diego Noguera Berger works as a musician, producer and composer for film, dance and theatre productions. He was both the sound designer and composer for Ancestral Visions of the Future (Berlinale Special).
Barbara Drazkov, composer and pianist primarily for new music and prepared piano, created the score for the short animated film Autokar (Generation). Nils Kacirek has written film music for countless films, TV productions and series, including the documentary Circusboy, which is premiering in Generation. Dascha Dauenhauer’s work has already featured in five productions presented at the Berlinale and is returning this year with two more films: Islands and No Beast. So Fierce. (both Berlinale Special); she is also a member of the International Jury for the 2025 Berlinale Shorts. The conversation is being hosted by Katja Lucker (Initiative Musik).
