Life in the big city. Thomas is a young artist, broke and unattached. Laetitia is an attractive, intelligent young woman in high heels. A party. A dance. An invitation. The pair spend the night together – vacillating between hospital and bed, between light-heartedness and high drama. They are the bright stars that give paintings their depth.

Justine Triet

She studied at the Beaux-arts de Paris and then directed several short films. Vilaine fille mauvais garçon, which is being rescreened at the 2025 Berlinale in the “You and I Are Not Alone – Berlinale Shorts Revisited” programme to celebrate 75 years of the festival, was selected as the Berlin Short Film Nominee for the European Film Awards in 2012. Further award-winning fiction films followed, most recently Anatomy of a Fall which won the Palme d’Or at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival as well as two Golden Globes and the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.
