Maya and her dad, Michel Gondry, live in two different countries. Every evening, he asks her: “Maya, give me a title.” Her answer serves as the basis for many short stop-motion animations in which Maya is the hero. The result is a poetic and amusing journey that invites you to dream and laugh.

Michel Gondry

The multidisciplinary filmmaker, screenwriter and musician was born in Versailles, France in 1963. Along with Charlie Kaufman and Pierre Bismuth, he won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay in 2005 for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, a film which he also directed. Several of his works have screened at the Berlinale including The Science of Sleep and Be Kind Rewind as well as Is the Man Who Is Tall Happy? about Noam Chomsky. Maya, donne-moi un titre is his first animated film. He was a member of the International Jury at the 2013 Berlinale.
