Arriving, Staying, Making Films

This year’s edition of the Forum Special programme “Fiktionsbescheinigung” is largely screening films from the 1970s, 80s and 90s. Filmmakers Cana Bilir-Meier (Zwischenwelt, Berlinale Forum Expanded 2023), Cem Kaya (Aşk, Mark ve Ölüm – Love, Deutschmarks and Death, Berlinale Panorama 2022) and Yüksel Yavuz (Mein Vater, der Gastarbeiter, Berlinale Forum Special 2023) talk about the similarities and differences they notice between back then and now – in view of work opportunities, recognition, aesthetics, subjects and alliances.
