Notes on Cinema #92: Re-Touching the Body – Storytelling, Participation, Reality

How can we tell history? How do we want to talk about it? How can we use archive material to re-discover and re-tell what happened? A deeper look into history and reality, and their depiction in media, with a focus on the Balkans.
Panel discussion with filmmakers Jasmila Žbanić (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Igor Drljača (Canada) and Clarissa Thieme (Germany). Moderated by Maike Mia Höhne, curator of Berlinale Shorts. The short films Can’t You See Them? – Repeat. by Clarissa Thieme, The Spirit Keepers of Makuta'ay by Yen-Chao Lin, and Omarska by Varun Sasindran will be screened before the panel.
