Défilé des Ombres is not a film in the usual sense. But just like a film it is composed of photographic images set in motion. The film harks back to the medium of drawing. The individual photographs document drawings that trace the outlines of shadow configurations. These shadows leave no doubt that they were thrown by clothes. The multifaceted shadows emerge through a complex lighting control in the showroom. By intertwining and blurringthe single images, the image of a “défilé of shadows” emerges.
