This film, based on a Georgian legend, is dedicated to Georgian warriors of all times who have laid down their lives for their country.
In order to beat back foreign conquerors, the people want to build a fortress, but every time the wall reaches roof height it collapses. “The structure will remain standing if the most handsome young man lets himself be walled in there,” prophesies the fortune-teller. A handsome young man turns up who is prepared to sacrifice himself to save his home country. He allows himself to be immured, and the fortress is completed.
